PROBLEMS WITH OTHER DOGS
Is your dog growling, barking or lunging at other dogs on walks?
Are you arms sore from the pulling and lunging?
Are you setting an alarm to walk your dog very early or very late to avoid dogs?
Are you feeling stressed, embarrassed or dreading your walks?
Does your dog appear to be stressed and unable to focus on you on walks?
Would you like to be able to walk calmly past other dogs in the daytime again?
Would you like to feel like you have a toolkit of skills to help you enjoy your walks again?
Would you like to better understand your dog and help them be more carefree on walks?
Then this package is for you!
Together we will work to understand your dog’s emotional needs
With an in-person consult - session one is a big chat about all things your dog, followed by a written report
We will set some tasks to help meet your dog's needs and to help them de-stress
You will get some useful handouts and links to further resources
Our main aim from session one is to prevent the undesirable behaviour from being practiced – what gets practiced, gets perfected!
There will be lots of top tips to help navigate life with a dog showing ‘reactive’ behaviours
At sessions two and three we will focus on training games to help change how your dog feels around other dogs. There will be demos of games, step-by-step guides and support every step of the way with training trackers, email and WhatsApp support to help you share your progress and celebrate your successes!
At the end of the package, you will continue working through your training plan. You will still have support in the few weeks following your session. Follow-up sessions are available and can be booked at any time if you need a little training boost or extra support!
One to one behaviour consultations are for dogs of any age to cover any behaviour issues you might be encountering. Sessions are available to book on Saturday mornings and are held at the Behaviour Clinic at Riverside Vets in Armadale. You do not need to be registered here to book a session!
A behaviour consultation includes:
Pre-session history taking and prep
Behaviour consultation
Training planner with tracking sheets
Training plan sent to you after each session
Training handouts
3 months email support
Due to the code of conduct and professional ethics that I adhere to as a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist, I work in partnership with your vet for behaviour cases. Working together with your vet ensures that any medical causes of behaviour are fully explored and treated. All you need to do is pass a vet form to your vet for them to complete (see below).
